Safety Courses

This course provides the worker with an overview of the safety applications on a construction site and increases awareness and understanding of governmental regulations and their application to craft practices. Each person attending this training session will receive a course completion card from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). All certificates received are issued directly from the OSHA Training Institute Outreach Program and meet every application to the OSHA requirements currently in place.

This course is designed for current safety directors or project supervisors or future safety directors or project supervisors.

The review and guidance in research and access to information about OSHA standards are reviewed and interpreted. All certificates received are issued directly from the OSHA Training Institute Outreach Program and meet every application to the OSHA requirements currently in place.

With this training, your employees will learn how to respond to situations that require adult CPR/AED and basic First Aid. They will learn how to handle medical emergencies, burns, rescue techniques, and how to treat shock and exposure. Certification is valid for 2 years. NFPA compliance.

Upon successful completion of this class, students will be qualified in basic rigging and signaling to meet updated OSHA crane standards. This is the training portion only which is but one part of an employer’s program to designate a “competent person” that is required by OSHA the employer. This will include written and practical training and testing.

RIGGER AND SIGNALMAN CERTIFICATION TRAINING:

Learn crane signals for crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, and tower cranes. Learn forklift signals for telescoping forklifts and mast style forklifts. Learn the types of rigging and the uses on the job for each one. Learn ways to apply rigging for the different types of rigging. Learn the different accessories for rigging and which applies best. Learn which OSHA requirements affect rigging and signalman. Learn standard safe work practices about rigging and signalman. Learn crane and forklift limitations. Apply rigging to objects safely. Learn real-life rigging scenarios and call and visually signal a crane and forklift.

This course will certify your scissor lift and aerial lift operators in the daily inspection and operation of the equipment. The training is generic in nature and is supplemented using current OSHA Standards, classroom lectures, and video training. The training portion presented in this course does not include hands-on training for beginners. Only trained and authorized persons are allowed to operate an aerial/scissor lift.

Attendees will acquire the needed training in safe practice and hazard awareness applications during forklift operations both in the warehouse and on the construction site. This is the classroom portion of the certification process. All practical training can be performed in-house and by a competent person. This training is required every three (3) years to remain compliant with OSHA regulations. “Hands-On” driving can be arranged for an additional fee. This is the training portion only which is but one part of an employer’s program to designate a “competent person” that is required by OSHA of the employer.

The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.

All workers must be trained if they are to use a scaffold. This course provides scaffold user training for each worker required to use a scaffold. Training includes knowledge of the OSHA Standard for erection, use, repair, and maintenance, including hazard recognition. Training also includes the nature of the hazards and the correct procedures for the type of scaffold in use. Other recommended training topics include inspections, planning, and fall protection.

Excavation applications are reviewed and highlight OSHA standards for all workers who use trenching and excavations. Excavation and trenching are among the most hazardous construction operations. OSHA defines an excavation as any man-made cut, cavity, trench, or depression in the earth's surface formed by earth removal. All workers who anticipate working in a trench or excavation should be trained on how to work safely and how to identify potential hazards.

The employer must provide training to all workers who enter and perform tasks regulated by this standard and ensure that the employee possesses the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of the duties assigned under this standard. This training will result in an understanding of the hazards in the confined space and the methods used to isolate, control, or in other ways, protect employees from these hazards.

The annual requirement to ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, and the safe operational posture when working on or near potentially live electrical systems, is essential for any company. This course provides safe practices and is one of three activities required to meet the regulatory requirement. Be prepared and send the responsible individual for training to stay current. Certification is valid for 3 years.

Electrical power must be removed when electrical equipment is inspected, serviced, or repaired. To ensure the safety of personnel working with the equipment, power is removed, and the equipment must be locked out and tagged out. This class will instruct students on when to use lockout tagout, its importance, and how to administer the standard.
